Toyota’s Mobility Campaign
A World Without Limits
Mobility for All. In 2018 Toyota launched a global campaign called “start your impossible.” “The campaign highlights Toyota’s mission to create a barrier-free society and reinforces the company’s values of humility, hard work, overcoming challenges, and never giving up.” In 2021, Toyota continues to support and expand the campaign. As Toyota stands as the worldwide official mobility partner of the international Olympics and Paralympics.
Toyota Mobility Foundation
Toyota’s Mobility Foundation stands behind the importance of enabling people to move freely so that they can unleash their full potential. Toyota works with various partners to create accessibility features across multiple car models. For example, the Sienna is available with auto access seating making it wheelchair accessible. Another add-on option for accessibility is a scooter lift. Consumers can also apply to the assistance program. The program provides cash reimbursement of up to “$1,000 of the cost of any aftermarket adaptive equipment or conversion when installed on any eligible purchased or leased new Toyota vehicle.”
Moving Forward
Currently, there are many projects Toyota is working on in regards to mobility. The E- Palette is a battery electric vehicle in the works that would allow automated transportation and commerce to communities. The T-TR1 is the companies twist on a robot. The LQ is a vehicle that would allow artificial intelligence to learn from the driver in order to create a personalized driving experience. The T-HR3 is a responsive robot that will be able to “safely assist humans in a variety of settings, such as the home, medical facilities, construction sites, disaster-stricken areas and even outer space.
