That’s why this August, we’re dedicating ourselves to the Flathead Food Bank Backpack Program, in partnership with the Flathead Food Bank—an initiative that quietly bolsters elementary students with weekend nourishment so they can return to school fed and focused.

The Program

Every vehicle purchase at Kalispell Toyota, as well as our sister stores, Kalispell Ford and Volkswagen, during August automatically contributes $50 to the Backpack Program. It’s an organic correlation between community commerce and compassion. This drive is pushing toward a bold milestone: raising $20,000 to fuel the weekend food bags. Here are some quick facts about the program:

• 15.6% of Flathead Valley children are food insecure
• 11,757 bags distrubted last year alone 
• Food is non-perishable and easy to serve, supporting 16 schools in the valley

The stark reality is that many kids rely on school meals from Monday through Friday, only to face nutritional gaps on weekends. The Backpack Program steps in discreetly, providing non-perishable breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for each day off.
