The answer is 13 hours if you are using a 220 volt outlet. The driving range on a full full charge is around 260 miles. However the range can be upgraded to around 400 miles if you choose.

The 2023 Toyota Tundra is a hybrid truck. Meaning it uses both a gasoline motor and electric motor to give you optimal fuel economy. The electric motor is charged through regenerative braking while you drive, so it never requires to be charged.

The Rivian truck is only available in a AWD option. Compared to the 2023 Toyota Tundra which is 4WD. Most people who own a truck use it to tow. The Rivian can tow up to 11,000 lbs compared to the Tundra which can tow up to 12,000 lbs.

When will Toyota offer an all electric truck?

Toyota has been in the electrification game for over 20 years. Currently they do not offer an all electric truck but do have many options to suit everyone. Toyota now offers a Hybrid option in almost every model they manufacture. They offer the Prime which has a short all electric driving range option and kicks in as a standard hybrid on longer road trips. Toyota also offers the all electric bZ4X which has a starting MSRP of $42,000. The Toyota Mirai (currently available in California) is a hydrogen powered sedan that emits only water. Being an industry leader doesn’t necessarily mean coming out with it first. Toyota has changed the way we think and rely on gasoline for a long time.

Toyota’s “Beyond Zero” goal is set to go beyond zero emissions and become carbon neutral by 2050. They also plan to manufacture around 70 electric models globally by 2025. Subsequently, Toyota may not yet have a release date for an all electric truck, but our guess would be it is coming soon.
