What does Toyota recommend?

In most cases, Toyota recommends that Toyota owners schedule a service appointment every six months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. However the maintenance performed during each service appointment varies by vehicle model and year, driving conditions and other factors that our trained technicians evaluate. In addition, if you have purchased a new Toyota model you can take advantage of the included Toyota Care. This program covers your scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. In other words your first 5 service appointments are covered as long as they are scheduled within the required time and mileage parameters.
