What the A.L.E.R.T. / Betty Wood’s Memorial Golf Tournament supports

This tournament is held to raise funds for the A.L.E.R.T. program and the Betty Woods Flathead Valley Emergency Services Endowment. Founded in 1975 the Logan Health A.L.E.R.T. program performs more than 400 flights a year and has saved more than 1,500 lives in its history. The A.L.E.R.T. crew consists of more than 20 crew members made up of pilots, flight nurses, and paramedics.

Who is Betty Wood’s?

Betty Ann Woods was an employee at Logan Health Medical Center for 28 years. She also sat on the board of the Three Rivers Ambulance. Betty began her career at Logan Health in the ICU (intensive care unit) as a Cardiac Nurse, this was when she took her first A.L.E.R.T. flight. From there, Betty transferred to the Emergency Department to fulfill her dream of flying A.L.E.R.T. regularly. Betty felt that emergency services were the backbone of our community and even went the extra mile to help train other EMS (emergency medical services) in the field. Betty answered her last page on September 10th, 2006. Gone, but far from forgotten.
